Host: David M. Johnson, BSME ’89, MBA ‘90
Achates Power is an 11 year old San Diego based company that has invested more than $100M to create the cleanest and most efficient internal combustion engines in the world. Achates has more than 80 issued patents and another 130 pending and is now commercializing their technology with customers around the world. Achates bills itself as the “Qualcomm of Engines” and is now commercializing their technology for applications that include cars, trucks, ships, military vehicles and power generation.
Achates CEO, David Johnson, will brief the Cornell Club of San Diego on the technical and commercial aspects of that Achates Power engine and their business with leading car, truck and engine companies around the world. He’ll explain how and why the Achates engine is so clean, efficient and cost effective, what data Achates has to prove it and then take questions on most any automotive topic (including current and past automotive “scandals”). Cornell alumni working at Achates Power will provide guided tours of Achates’ facilities and show the inner workings of the Achates engine while fielding questions.
The cost of the event is $25 per person and there is a limit of 40 participants.
