The Metonymies: A Dialogue with Twentieth-Century Works from the Sonnabend Collection is a very special exhibit of Twentieth Century contemporary artwork from the Sonnabend Collection paired with classical holdings from the Timken collection. The guiding purpose of offering these contrasting selections of artworks is to highlight what was considered exceptional artwork in more classical periods and how these works compare and contrast to the creations of such artists as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jeff Koons.
